John "Mack" Maxion Parrish, 81, of Archdale/Trinity, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem.

Mack was born June 7, 1931 to James and Hessie Parrish. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Edna Lawson. Known as a "Mr. Fix-It", he loved cars and the early days of NASCAR racing. He was also well known as a great storyteller. Mack will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is predeceased by his wife and daughter, Joy Jackson.

Mack is survived by children, Mackie Parrish and wife Janice of Hudson, NC, Kathy Bunn and husband Richard of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Keith Parrish and wife Ann of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Robert Parrish, John Parrish, Mark Jackson, Melissa Jackson, Matthew Bunn, and Aaron Bunn; 4 great grandchildren.

A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, April 30th at 2 p.m. at Floral Garden Memorial Park, High Point with Reverend Tim Porter officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of The GrayBrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, High Point Regional Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital of Winston Salem, and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their kind and loving care of Mack.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Pallative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
