Rita Elizabeth Barnes, age 89, died at her home in Ririe, Tuesday, January 13, 2015 .
Rita was born March 28, 1925 at the family home near Rigby a daughter to J. B. Summers and Nettie L. Harris Summers.
She attended Clark Schools near Rigby. She married Albert C. Barnes November 12, 1942 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She Worked for Marvin Bucks Grocery, ( Ririe Merc), Gateway Service Station and for Pro-Ida. She enjoyed singing, playing guitar, going to the mountains, gardening and flowers.
She was a member of the LDS Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann (Gale) Christensen of Ririe, her son Wendall Albert (Ranae) Barnes of Ririe a sister Betty L. Poole of Idaho Falls, a brother E. Bud Summers of Rigby, seven grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Robert T. Barnes, a grandson Robert Lynn Barnes, a sister Elaine Christensen and a brother Ralph W. Summers.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main, Rigby. The family will visit with friends Friday, January 16, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
