Mary Jane (Richardson) Erikson, former Sandstone resident died peacefully on Dec. 7, 2007, in Laramie, Wyo. She was born to Douglas and Esther Richardson on Sept. 11, 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis. She grew up in northern Wisconsin and graduated from the Stout Institute, Menomonie, Wis., in 1945. She married Vernon Erikson on Valentine's Day 1947, in Duluth. They resided in Duluth until 1962, when they moved to Sandstone. The couple moved to Laramie, Wyo., in 2004, to be near their son Robert and daughter Linda. Mrs. Erikson was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; eldest son, Charles Allan Erikson; and granddaughter, Toktam. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Vernon Erikson of Laramie; daughter, Bonnie (Bill) Lindner of Hinckley, Minn.; daughter, Shirley (Stephen) Adams of Lakewood, Colo.; daughter, Diane (Mohamed) BenSenia of Vienna, Virginia; daughter, Linda (Jan Curtis) Erikson of Laramie; daughter, Kristi (Massoud Ahmadi-Moghadam) Erikson of Sante Fe, New Mexico; and son, Robert (Lisa) Erikson also of Laramie; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. PRIVATE VIEWING:was held in the Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home in Laramie on Dec. 8. The extended Erikson family will gather in northern Minnesota next summer to honor Mrs. Erikson's life and return her ashes to the woodlands she held dear.
