Virginia A. Dixon, 69, of Riverside Circle, Corning died Fri, Feb 1, 2008, at home with her family by her side.

She was born Dec 22, 1938 in Corning the daughter of the late Oscar and Harriet (Folmar) Stickler.

Virginia and Theodore Dixon were married on Oct 22, 1960 at the Painted Post Presbyterian Church.

Virginia was employed from 1957-66 by Corning Glass Works, she then dedicated her life to raising her family and taking care of her home. Thru the years she found additional time as a teachers aid in special education with the Corning School District for 3 years, she spent 5 enjoyable years with the RSVP - Pro-Action Nutrition Program in the Corning Area and 3 years as chairman of the trip committee for the Corning Retirees group SERGE. Virginia enjoyed the time she spent with so many wonderful friends over the years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Theodore Dixon of Corning; daughter, Gloria (David) Rich of Beaver Dams; sons, Gregory Dixon of Corning, Timothy (Diana) Dixon of Campbell and Oscar Dixon and partner Jeffrey of Corning; sister, Donna (David) Shaddock of Corning; brother, Robert (Sandy) Stickler of Campbell; grandsons, Bryant Dixon of Campbell and Tony (Daniela) Rich of Elmira; granddaughter, Shelly (Kevin) Rich of Horseheads; g-granddaughter, Abigail Decker of Horseheads; g-grandson, Ethan Decker of Horseheads, sister-in-laws, Gloria (Gerald) Vaughn of Lake Placid, FL, Doris Pierce of Elmira, Barbara Arcovio of Horseheads, Marlene Johnson of Misquite, TX, Diane (David) Crowl of Gang Mills, Judy (Eddie) Faulkner of Painted Post, Janice (John) Snyder of Gang Mills, Penny (Steve) Root of Corning; brother-in-laws, Richard (Velma) Dixon of Painted Post and Gary Dixon of Corning.

She was predeceased by her father, Oscar Stickler, mother, Harriet (Folmar) Stickler, brother, James Stickler and daughter, Harriet Dixon.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post, NY.
