The Rev. Joe Riley Boshears, 93, died Oct. 8 at LaFollette Medical Center, he was the son of the late J.B. and Parthenia (Copeland) Boshears. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Monday at Coolidge Baptist Church with the Rev. Emmett Spradlin and Owen Hatmaker officiating. Burial was in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lola (Lay) Boshears; six sons, Riley Boshears of Utica, Mich., Larry Boshears of Middlestown, Ohio, Carl Boshears of Ecorse, Mich., Douglas Boshears of LaFollette and Donnie Boshears and county commissioner Melvin Boshears, both of Jacksboro; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Carroll of LaFollette, Mrs. Vivian Kurfman of Middlestown, Ohio, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper of Sweetwater, Mrs. Aileen Blakley of Helenwood, and Mrs. Shirley Ann Bright of Lake City; 43 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
