The Templeton Catholic Daughters of America will form an honor guard for the Mass at the church. Casket bearers will be Ken Willenborg, Jim Drake, Keith Hugeback, Kent Hugeback, John Drake and Lynn Willenborg. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton. Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 3 Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A Christian wake service by the parish will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
A daughter of Gerhard and Catherine (Ferneding) Kettmann, she was born on Aug. 23,1902, at Templeton. She spent most of her lifetime in the Templeton community and attended Sacred Heart Schools. She and Ben Willenborg were married on May 30, 1922, at Sacred Heart Church in Templeton, and the couple farmed near Templeton and Dedham before moving in 1929 to the family farm northeast of Templeton.
The Willenborgs retired from farming in 1960, moved into Templeton and Mrs. Willenborg moved into Carroll Health Center in 1993. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, its Ladies Guild, the Templeton Senior Citizen Club, and a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mrs.
Willenborg enjoyed playing cards, shopping, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Colette Willenborg and Elsie Willenborg, both of Carroll; a son-in-law, Joe Drake Sr. of Bayard; 23 grandchidren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Kettmann of Manning.
Mrs. Willenborg was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben in 1972; three sons, Bernard, John, and Harold Willenborg; two daughters, Dorothy Drake and Mary Ann Hugeback; two grandchildren, Christine Willenborg and Glenn Willenborg; a son-in-law, Joseph Hugeback; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Willenborg; and four siblings, George Kettmann, Katherine Willenborg, Emma Kettmann and Elsie Kalkhoff.
