Eva Ann Park was born 1 October 1907 in Fairfield, Utah. She was the youngest of ten children born to Andrew Findley Park and Annie [Young] Park. Eva suffered a crippling disease when she was about 18 months old. The doctors told her parents that it was Polio. One of her legs grew longer than the other leg which made her limp badly. Due to this, she tired easily and was not able to do the heavier housework. She had a loveable nature and her family favored and protected her. Children of all ages loved being with her and she with them. When Eva was 2 1/2 years old, her father felt his family would have more advantages in Idaho, so the family was uprooted and they moved to south-eastern Idaho in 1909. The Park family traveled by train and arrived at their new home on 12 April 1909. They settled in the Perry area, close by Ririe, Jefferson, Idaho where they had friends and relatives. They stayed at Annie's sister, Charlotte Fillmore's home until they were able to get their furniture from the Rigby Railroad Depot. Eva attended elementary school, just as all her brothers and sisters did before her but because of her disability, the other children teased her so it was not a good experience in her young life.
When she grew older, Eva met and fell in love with Julius Hulse. They were married 11 April 1933 in California. They are the parents of 2 sons, Julius George Hulse Jr. (1934-1934) and Norlan Park Hulse Durrant (1935-2014). Their first born son died shortly after he was born. When her second child was due, Eva's sister Leah, traveled to California to be with her for the birth. Another baby boy, Norlan, was delivered by Caesarean Section because of Eva’s pelvic deformity. Things did not go well and Eva suffered postoperative shock and died at 8:35 p.m. the same day. She was 27 years of age. Her husband Julius and her sister Leah brought her body back home to Idaho and Eva was buried on a hill overlooking Ririe, Idaho in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. Julius did not feel that he could properly take care of an infant so Leah took over care of the infant as she had promised her dying sister. Leah and her husband Jim Durrant later adopted Norlan.
