Marvin LaMoinie Nelson was born December 20,1918 in Greeley County, the son of Milford and Olive Nelson and departed this life April 2, 1971 at Lafayette, Colorado at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 12 days.

He attended rural schools in the Wolbach community and grew to manhood, later attending a C.C. Camp in the 1930's.

He was married to Theda McCormick on September 22,1941 and they made their home at Modesto, California.

Pete, as he was known by family and friends, entered the Army in September, 1944 and served with the 193rd Armored Division in the Pacific Combat Zone. Upon receiving his discharge in November, 1946, he was self-employed in an air cargo service at Modesto.

He returned to Nebraska in 1956, where he worked for his brother, Marshal at Ord as an operator of heavy construction equipment. He continued this line of work throughout the midwest until 1961 when he moved to Lafayette, Colorado to make his home, and since then had been employed by the Baily Construction Company.

He was a member of Lafayette Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Everett Caudill of Wolbach; two brothers, Harley of Riverside, California and Kenneth of Washington, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Mrs. Mildred Nealon; two brothers, Vernon and Marshal and two half-brothers.
