DANIEL THOMAS DAVIS, 62

WINTER HAVEN - Daniel Thomas Davis, 62, of Winter Haven, Fl., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at Shands Hospital in Gainesville from complications of a stroke with his family at his side on Good Friday, April, 22, 2011.

Dan was born in Haines City on July 3, 1948 to Edgar and Virginia (Page) Davis.

He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1968 and began his career with Barrington Fleetwood Homes where he was assistant production manager and retired from Skyline. He was a member of Haines City Masonic Lodge No. 219, F & AM. He was a licensed pilot and a member of the EAA, C.F. Astronomical Society and the KRVSA Airboat Club. He was also actively involved in the Polk Republican Executive Committee and a member of the Winter Haven 912 Club.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry.

Dan is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet, his son Brian and daughter Lisa, two grandsons, Bryce and Bronson, and mother, Virginia Davis.

Danny's passion in life was loving and serving his family. He was a domestic animal lover and had a special bond with his cat Earnie and his boxer Lucy Faye and a three legged dog named Bullet.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Danny's life from 10 to 11AM. Wednesday with a service starting at 11:00 AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, Fl. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery with Masonic Services.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Haines City Masonic Lodge, 47 N. 6th St. Haines City, Florida, 33844.
