Mrs. Elizabeth Barlage, wife of the late John Barlage, and well known to most of our readers, was killed by an Illinois central freight train Wednesday evening. She was on the way to her home in northwest part of Effingham, Illimnois, and when crossing the track near the Catholic cemetery was struck.
The deceased was 82 years of age on November 24, 1922. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Ostendorf, and she was united in marriage to John Barlage.
To this union 10 children were born, five of whom are living, namely Mrs. Lena Brown of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Katie I've Wiseman of Effingham, Illinois; John M. Barlage, Effinghan, Illinois; George Barlage, Effingham, Illinois; and Ben of Effingham, Illinois.
Her husband preceded her in death 19 years ago.
The funeral will be held from Saint Anthony's Church at 8 AM, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock
