Voyal Willam Harris was born December 22, 1906, in Portage, Box Elder, Utah, USA, the son of Wilford Thomas and Christina Janette Heaton Harris. He attended school at the Buck School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Ririe, Idaho. In 1927, he married Leona Moss in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS Temple.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served a mission in Canada, worked in the superintendency of the MIA and as a Sunday School teacher. At the time of his death he was a Seventy.

He was employed as a bookkeeper for 25 years for the Ririe Grain Growers, until his retirement in 1963. He had also been a farmer and a rancher.

He is survived by his widow; three sons Don V. Harris, Shelley; Jim R. Harris, Yukon; Kirt A. Harris, Ammon; two daughters Mrs. Jeanne B. Dobbins, Roseburg, Oregon; and Mrs. Tanna Owens, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 19 grandchildren; three brothers, Leland Harris, Ririe, Idaho; Wayne Harris, Ririe, Idaho; and Farl Harris, Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. Norma Drollinger, Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Mrs. LaVina Cleverley, Idaho Falls. One son preceded him in death.

He passed away on May 7, 1977, at Arco, Butte, Idaho, following a lingering illness.

Services were on Tuesday, May 10, 1977, at 2:00 PM at the Rigby, Idaho, East Stake Center on the Rigby-Ririe Road. Burial was at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
