Mr. Peter Alphenaar 2914 Junedale and Bradenton, Fla. Passed away Saturday morning, November 8, 1975. Mr. Alphenaar was born July 31, 1897 in Zuidland, the Netherlands, son of William and Anna Alphenaar; had been a resident here since 1919. Since his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Alphenaar have spent the winters in Florida. Mr. Alpenaar was a retired building contractor and had owned the firm now known as Alphenaar and Visser. He was a member of the Bradenton Florida Christian Reformed Church, a former member of the Alamo Avenue Christian Reformed Church. He had been active in church and the Kalamazoo Christian School activities. Surviving are: his wife, Johanna; six daughters, Mrs. Dale (Cobie) Lemmer, Mrs. Clarence (Anne) DeVries, Mrs. Henry (Henrietta) Sportel and Mrs. Isaac (Gerry) Visser, all of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Cornie (Nellie) Visser, Rock Valley, Iowa, Mrs. Paul (Carol) Dykstra of Brookfield, Wis.; 28 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three brothers, Jacob, Fred and Adrian, all of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, William. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 1 o'clock at the Langeland Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, Rev. Richard J. VandeKieft officiating. Interment Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Christian School Realty Association. Friends may call at the chapel.
