Mr. Jacob ALPHENAAR, 5124 Green Meadow, passed away Tuesday morning, October 26, 1993. Mr. ALPHENAAR was born April 23, 1899, in the Netherlands, the son of William and Anna (LUYENDYK) ALPHENAAR and was a resident here since 1920. Before retirement he owned and operated Jake ALPHENAAR & Son Painting and Decorating. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Protestant Reformed Church and a former member of the Grace Christian Reformed Church. His wife of 55 years, Jennie ALPHENAAR, passed away in 1978. He was later married to Genevieve KLOP who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters and 2 sons and their spouses, Gertrude and Henry TENHOOR of Holland, Ann and John TUINIER of Kalamazoo, Rika and George VANDERPLOEG of Holland, John and Betty ALPHENAAR of Paw Paw, Harold and Joyce ALPHENAAR of Kalamazoo; 2 step-children and their spouses, Mary and Edward LOTTERMAN of Byron Center, and Jack and Pam KLOP of Kalamazoo; 16 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren 1 step-great-granddaughter; 2 brothers, Fred and Adrian ALPHENAAR, both of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter ALPHENAAR; and a sister, Anna. Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 o'clock at the Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Rd., with the Rev. Mr. Bernard Woudenberg and the Rev. Mr. Henry Vander Kam officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the Langeland Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
