Helen "Geneva" Leeper age 83, an Atoka county resident since 1964, formerly of California and Roswell, N.M. She was born on August 12, 1927, to Arthur and Leora (Couchman) Ables, near Lehigh, Ok. Geneva passed away on July 19, 2011, at Durant, Ok. She attended school at Grasshopper and Shady Grove in Coal County. Geneva was a homemaker. She married Jack Leeper on June 25, 1945, in Atoka, Ok. Geneva was a member of the Wards Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of the National Geographic Society, an active contributor to the Feed the Children program. Geneva enjoyed bird watching, studying her Bible, she was working on her seventh cover to cover read of her Bible. She was passionate about studying her Scottish and Irish heritage. Geneva is survived by her son, Marvin Leeper of Atoka, Ok.; god-granddaughter, Sara Turner and daughter Addie of Atoka, Ok; sisters, Ruby Marie York of Atoka, Ok., Beatrice Anderson of Atoka, Ok.; nieces, Violetta Ables of Atoka, Ok., Angel Ables of Atoka, Ok.; nephews, Charles McDaniel of Hugo, Ok., Jesse McIninch of Lehigh, Ok., Kenny McIninch of Atoka, Ok.; along with numerous grand nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Leora (Couchman) Ables; husband, Jack Leeper; nephews, Joe Thomas York and Tommy "Buck" Ables; niece, Nadine Baughman Releford.
