James Priode
James J. Priode, 70, South Point, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 1991, at his residence after an extended illness.
Born May 15, 1920, he was a son of the late Edward and Ruth Coughenour Priode. He was a World War II Coast Guard Veteran, a retired driver for Smith's Transfer Company of Charleston, W.Va., and he was of the Methodist faith. He graduated from Pomeroy High School and lived in Meigs County for several years.
Mr. Priode is survived by his wife, Sally Wheeler Priode, a son, Timothy Priode, South Point; a daughter, Tamara Bartel, Gallipolis; two grandchildren, Jason Thompson and Dustin Priode; two sisters, Jane Brown, Pomeroy; and Leona Doman, Danville, Ky.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Priode and Harold Long.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton with Rev. Larry Brisker officiating.
There will be no calling hours and family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice, 620 16th St., Ashland, Ky., 41101
Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton is handling the arrangements.
