James Knox Gilkey, 57, 612 S. Irena Ave, Redondo Beach, California, died Tuesday in Redondo Beach after a lingering illness. He was a former resident of New Galilee.
Born November 24, 1902 in New Galilee, he was the son of the late Francis E. and Elizabeth Malone Gilkey. He had lived most of his life in and around New Castle, having resided in California for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Noggle Gilkey, and the children: Robert, Redondo Beach, Donald, Torrence, Calif., Edward of Maspeth, NY, and Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Stoner, New Castle; 8 grandchildren, three brothers: Gale and Wayne Gilkey, Whittier, Calif. and Lyle of Oatman, Ariz.
He was preceeded in death by a sister, Mrs. Earl (Jean) Main.
Services were held in Redondo Beach with interment in Green Hills Memorial Park there.
