Ethel was born 13 Jan 1897 at Shelton, Bonneville, Idaho, daughter of John Johnson and Matilda Howard Johnson. She lived in Shelton and attended Buck and Clark Schools, and Ricks Academy, Rexburg, Madison, Idaho. She married Harvey William Jordan 13 Apr 1919, at Shelton, Idaho. She moved to Milo, Bonneville, Idaho where she spent most of her life. The marraige was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple 7 Nov 1957.
She worked at Kunter Brothers Store in Ririe and did housreork for many families. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She moved to Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho in Oct 1980 and lived in the Staker Apartments. For three years she lived with her daughter.
She died 1 Aug 1986 at Riverview Nursing Home, Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho and is buried in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, Ririe, Bonneville. Idaho.
