MISS DIANTHA SHAVER BURIED
Funeral of Resident of Near Hurdland Was Friday Afternoon
Miss Diantha Shaver, 72 years old, died at 20 minutes to 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon of last week at her home two miles south of Hurdland. She had been a sufferer of cancer of the breast for three years, and had been almost blind the last ten or twelve years of cataract.
Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the home by the Rev. R. T. Finnell of Hurdland. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Hurdland.
There survives only one sister, Miss Otilla Shaver, with whom she lived, of south of Hurdland, near the home place.
Miss Shaver was born Oct. 13, 1854, in Ohio. She came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shaver, to Knox County when she was 15 years old. They settled on the farm which has been the home of Miss Shaver and her sister ever since.
Miss Shaver was a cousin of F. P. Sever of Hurdland.
