Deaths—Benjamin Shaver, 85, a Veteran of the Civil War died June 27, 1917, at his home where he steeled in 1868, two miles south of Hurdland. He was born in Centreville [sic], Montgomery County, Ohio, September 25, 1832. At about 20 years of age he was married to Miss Ruth Lundy. Mr. Shaver was in the historic "March of Sherman to the Sea," a re-enlisted veteran mustered out at the close of the war. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery at Hurdland.
