Betty Jean "Jeanie" Thrash, 78, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 11, 2013, at a local hospice. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Granbury Cemetery in Granbury. Born in Granbury, Jeanie was raised by her parents, Ruel and Maudie Tomlinson. She had been a longtime resident of San Antonio, along with her beloved husband of over 60 years, Don Thrash, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a graduate of Granbury High School and worked as an executive assistant in various fields most of her life. She was very active at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ, dedicating many hours of volunteer work on behalf of the church. One of her great loves in life was ballroom dancing, at which she excelled and won several competitions. When she was on the floor dancing, she was a vision of grace and beauty to the music. Jeanie also took great interest in the lives of her nieces and nephews, providing them with care, guidance and a loving heart. She helped provide several of the nieces and nephew the opportunity to enjoy childhood and build memories that they otherwise could never have had. The family would like to thank all who helped give care and prayers for Jeanie. She was a great lady, who had a warm and loving heart. She will be missed by all whose lives she has touched. Survivors: Sisters, Lillie Purselly, Laverne Brown, Dora Staggs and Nelda Addison; nieces, Vickie Monteith, Billie Swacker and Judy Dinkins; nephew, Bob Swacker; and many other nieces and nephews.
