Age 79 of Kodak, died at his home. He was the son of the late Mel and Hattie Bailey Cate and was preceded in death by infant daughter Patsy Sue Cate; brothers, Ralph, Earnest, Robert, Troy, Lawrence and sister Florence Cate Swann. He was a retired farmer. Survivers: wife, Dora H. Cate; daughters Doris Underwood and husband Bill of Kodak, JoAnn Simpson and husband Pat of Kingsport; grandchildren, Jered Underwood and wife Beth, Any Woody and husband Joe, Dennis Knisley and wife Beth, and Phil Knisley; great grandchildren, Peyton and Cameron Woody, Garrett, Benjamin and Raye Knisley; sisters Velma Sims and husband Turner, Golda Catlett, Louise Kelly and husband Jimmy; sister-in-law, Leona Cate, Juanita Cate, Burgia Bailey, Gloria Huskey, Gene Whaley, Josie Chambers, and Litha Huskey; brother-in-law, Loy Huskey, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral: French Broad Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Rev. Mike Rutherford officiating. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge.
