Mrs. Emily T. "Debbie" Darby, 80, of Beallsville, died Sunday, May 23, at Northampton Nursing Home, Frederick.

She was the wife of H[arry] Dunbar Darby.

Born April 2, 1919, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late James Patrick and Anne E. Shelton Tinney.

She was a member of Monocacy Homemakers and Frederick Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

She also was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Fellowship Circle and Altar Guild.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Donna J. Ferril of Jefferson; one son, Douglas W. Darby of Virginia; two sisters, Katherine Alexander and Pauline Danner, both of Frederick; one aunt, Katherine Kline of Frederick; and two grandchildren, Kristi Michele Frazier of Owings Mills, and Dale Thomas Ferril Jr. of Jefferson.

She was preceded in death by one son, Harry Dunbar Darby Jr.; five sisters, Ann Didway, Mable Fox, Peg Fisher, Betty Wagner and Sally Thomas; and three brothers, Benjamin Tinney, James Tinney and Kenneth Tinney.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 27, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Garden House at Edenton, 5849 Genesis Lane, Frederick, Md. 21703, or Hospice of Frederick County, 1730 N. Market St., Frederick, Md. 21701.
