Wayne was born in Shelton, Bonneville, Idaho (near Ririe) 17 Jul 1915, son of John Johnson and Matilda Howard Johnson. He attended schools at Buck elementary in Shelton and Ucon High school in Ucon, Idaho.
He married Flora Henrietta Stosich 15 Mar 1944 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He farmed and served on the board of directors for the Ririe Co-Op, Farmers Friend Canal, and Upper Snake River Valley Orotective Union. In 1988 he was honored as one of Idaho's Centennial Farmers. All his life he lived in the same house in which he was born.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints, he served he served for 27 years as a counselor in the bishopric, on the Stake High Council, as Bishop of the Shelton Ward and as a missionary in the Northwestern States Mission, and he and his wife served a mission in Jackson, Mississippi. He enjoyed visiting with friends.
Wayne died 8 Oct 1994 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is buried in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, Ririe, Bonneville, Idaho.
He is the father of three, LaRae Moss, Robert Johnson, and Howard Johnson.
