Chester Bukowski, 91, of Syracuse , died on Friday at James Square. He retired from the City Water Department after 45 years of service, was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in Burma, was a member of the Pulaski Post American Legion and was an avid gardener and golfer. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by two sisters, Jane and Anne Bukowski of Syracuse , and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.
Funeral services are Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration Church. Burial is in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3111 James St.
