Death of James Beard
- The sudden death of James Beard occurred at his home in Farmington early Thursday morning. Mr. Beard came here from Simcoe County Ontario , Canada, with his bride about 33 years ago, and except for one year has lived in this township since that time.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie, one son, Melville, and three granddaughters, all of this town. A well liked, quiet man and an excellent farmer, Mr. Beard will be missed by many friends, all of whom extend their sympathies to the family.

Farmer, 70, Suicide Near Canandaigua
Canandaigua, June 4--(Special)--Coroner Leon A. Stetson of this city today issued a verdict of suicide in the case of James Beard, 70-year-old farmer, whose lifeless body was found yesterday in the kitchen of his home five miles north of here on the Rochester Road.
Believed to have been despondent over ill health, the aged man had fired the charge from a shot-gun into his chest. The body was found by a son, Melville Beard, who lived in the other half of his father's house.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
