Levi Haworth an old and highly respected citizen of Carroll township was suddenly called from earth by death on last Friday morning, August 5th. The causes of his death was probably the excessive heat and disease of the heart.
Father Haworth was born in Highland county Ohio, February 24, 1811. He moved with his family to Iowa in 1858 and settled in Carroll township near the place where he died. His wife died February 28th, 1878.
He professed conversion to the Lord in 1855 and untied with the Methodist Episcopal church and has since then been an earnest and active Christian. He died as he had lived in Christian triumph. Many mourn his departure.
