Mrs. Ryan received her education in the Brooklyn School. She was united in marriage to Max E. Ryan on July 1, 1963, in Kirksville, Missouri.
Mrs. Ryan lived most of her life in the Brooklyn area. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Pythian Sisters, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Ryan is survived by her husband, Max; two daughters, LuAnn Bacon and Rebecca Ryan; her mother, Elsie Carter; her father, Carl Carter; one sister, Donna Kilmer; her grandchildren, Brian Bacon and Karla Bacon; and her maternal grandmother, Alice Bolen.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Max Eugene; her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
Funeral services Thelma Nadine Ryan were held at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 21, 1976, at the Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, Iowa, with Rev. Lawrence Barron officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery.
