Merta Albert Dies at 76; Rites Set
Merta Albert, 76, resident of the Estherville area since 1892, died yesterday at 10 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital after a lingering illness. She had been hospitalized since October 1960.

Born May 5, 1884 [per cemetery records 1885] at Vinton, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Amanda Albert. The family moved to the Estherville where Miss Albert had continued to live after the death of her parents.

Miss Albert was employed for 20 years by the former Estherville Wholesale Grocers Company.

She was a longtime member of First Methodist Church.

Survivors of Miss Albert are a brother, Michael Albert of Montgomery, and a sister, Mrs. E. M. Nelson of Brainerd, Minn.

Funeral services are to be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home, the Rev. Fred D. Ortmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home from this evening until time of the services tomorrow.
