Mrs. Amanda Albert, 95, Dies Today
Mrs. Amanda [Fouts] Albert, who would have been 96 next month, died at 5:00 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital where she had been hospitalized since Dec. 20 with a broken hip. Immediate cause of death was attributed to hardening of the arteries.

Mrs. Albert was born Aug. 18, 1860 in Benton county. She was united in marriage to Nicholas Albert, Dec. 11, 1877, at Marysville.

The Alberts came to the Estherville community in 1892, settling on a farm west of Estherville and moving to Estherville in 1902.

Mrs. Albert was a member of First Methodist church.

Preceded in death by her husband in 1914, Mrs. Albert had been making her home with her daughter, Merta, since that time. Other survivors include a son, Michael of Montgomery and a daughter, Mrs. E. M. Nelson of Brainerd, Minn.

Also surviving are three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death seven years ago.

Funeral arrangements as yet have not been completed but will be published in tomorrow's Daily News. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 6, 1956)

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Albert who died yesterday morning will be conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning at Sandin-Fuhrman funeral home, the Rev. Harrison G. Dawes officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman's tonight and until time of services Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 7, 1956)
