DOUBLE KILLING NEAR PIEDMONT
HUBBARD TARRANT AND LARKIN HOWARD KILLED EACH OTHER LAST NIGHT
CAUSE YET UNKNOWN
Early this morning Deputy Sheriff E.M. Patterson was notified over the phone from Piedmont that Hubbard Tarrant and Larkin Howard had shot each other to death at Howard's home three miles from Piedmont on the MaMahon place. Tarrant was about 33 and Howard about 73. According to the report, Howard had been to Greenville last night and, returning home, found Tarrant there in the yard and shot him. Deputy Sheriff Patterson went to Piedmont this morning to investigate the tragedy.
