WALTER O. HOWARD
Walter Oscar Howard, 83, of 42 Lowndes Hill Road, a retired employee of American Spinning Co., died Wednesday.
Born in Hendersonville, N.C., a son of the late Larkin and Victoria Pruitt Howard, he was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jessie Jones Howard; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas Rhymer of Winnsboro, Mrs. Charles Queen and Mrs. Carl Phillips of Greenville; five sons, Ralph Howard of Easley, Reid Howard of Central, Roy Howard of Seneca, Larry Howard of Greenville and Ray Howard of Atlanta, Ga.; 35 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with burial in Graceland cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
