Funeral services for Agnes Blaha, 99, Chelsea, were Friday, February 26, at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine. She died February 23, 1993, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. R. Carrol Johnson of Belle Plaine, officiated. Tracy Novak was the organist. Tammy Kolash sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art." Burial was in National Cemetery, Vining. Pallbearers were Tom Brundage, David Kremenak, Gary Dvorak, Charles Posekany, L. Patrick Douglas, and Craig Hall. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Kremenak and James Clementi.
Agnes Blaha was born July 22, 1893, in Vining. She was the daughter of Joseph and Anna Hanus Sokol. She attended York No. 8 school near Vining. She married Joseph E. Blaha, July 12, 1915. He died March 6, 1969. She was a member of WFLA and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 226, Elberon. She is survived by one son, Glenn Blaha, Chelsea; two daughters, Mayme Dvorak, Belle Plaine, and Ollie Kremenak, Clutier; one brother, James Sokol, and two sisters, Julia Linhart and Ella Shanda; also 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Herink, Mary Riha, Emma Bartosh, Frances Dvorak and two in infancy; also four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Joseph, Charles and one in infancy; and one son, Milvoy J. Blaha.
