Excerpt from 1961 Civil War Centennial issue of the Carthage Press:
Sterling Price "Tom" Glass, was born Aug 21, 1861 at the family home near Third and Lincoln. He was a pioneer miller here. Young Glass, who missed by a little more than a month the excitement created by the Battle of Carthage, was later a successful Carthage businessman. He was a charter member of the old Light Guard Band.

Mother eight months pregnant when Battle of Carthage occurred JUL 1861 with son Sterling Price, whose namesake was ex-Missouri governor, Confederate General Sterling Price.

NOTE, his father, Thomas Glass of Kentucky, reportedly during the Civil War operated a woolen mill built 1848 a couple miles east of Carthage on Spring river, later to be known as McDaniel, then lastly, Morrow Mill.
