Tom Burgess, age 93 of Monroe, died on Dec. 2, 2008. He was born in Oconee County on June 6, 1915 to the late Edgar Lump Burgess and the late Nora Cain Burgess. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Hazel Eunice McCarty Burgess.
Surviving are: sons and daughters-in-law: Tommy and Diane Burgess of Monroe, Joe and Sandy Burgess of Buckhead, David and Carol Burgess of Monroe, Lynn Burgess and Kay Stevens of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, Dec. 5th at 2 p.m.. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Conners officiating. Interment followed at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
