J.F. (JACK) HUSMANN
MONTICELLO - The funeral of John F. (Jack) Husmann, 79, was held Monday afternoon, Nov 8, at Wayne Zion Lutheran church with interment in the church cemetery.
Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated. Military honors were presented by the Anamosa Legion post.
Mr. Husmann died Saturday morning, Nov 6, at the Senior Home, where he had been a resident the past four years.
He was born at Center Jct. Jan 3, 1897, son of Wilke and Meta Weers Husmann. After receiving his early education in the Jones county schools, he served during World War I in the United States Army.
On Sept 1, 1920 he married Anna E. Otten and the couple lived and farmed in the Amber community.
Surviving are eight children, LaVern W. John F. Jr. and Merlin O., all of Anamosa, Mrs. Helen Meier, Mrs. Irvin Lubben and Mrs. Ervin (Dorothy) Stutt, all of Monticello, Robert J. of Center Jct. and Allen E. of Wyoming.
also surviving are 28 grand children, 17 great-grandchildren; and five sister, Mrs. Gerd (Kate) Dirks of Wyoming, Mrs. John (Meta) F. Dirks, Mrs. Dena Dirks, and Mrs. Owen (Louise) Conley, all of Anamosa and Mrs. Henry (Alvena) Rink of Monticello.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Dec 18, 1961; a son, Kenneth, Feb 3, 1975; three brothers and two sisters.
Casket bearers were William Wennekamp, James Conley, LeRoy Dirks, Ernest Husmann, John Dirks and Gerd Tuetken.
