Mrs. Richard Johnson Died Suddenly Early Thursday Morning
Mrs. Richard Johnson (Vera) well known Blair woman, died during the night at her home late Wednesday or early Thursday. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was found by her husband on the kitchen floor shortly before four o'clock Thursday morning.
Mrs. Johnson, who had been active in many community affairs, had many friends who were shocked to learn of her sudden death. She had, reportedly, been in good health. She is a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star of Blair.
Mrs. Johnson was born September 9, 1913 at Kennard, Nebraska, and was 56 years of age at the time of her death. She was married to Richard Johnson, Blair native and long-time associate in the operation of the Blue Goose Store in Blair. The couple had no children.
She is survived by her husband; by her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Nelsen, of Blair and by two sisters, and a brother. The sisters are Mrs. Harry Paulsen (Mildred) and Mrs. Raymond (Leola) Jensen, both of Omaha. The brother is Clyde Nelsen, of Sterling, Colorado. There are four nephews.
Private funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Campbell Mortuary. The Rev. Robert Albers conducted the service and burial was made in the Blair cemetery.
