Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wed. Dec. 4 at First Lutheran Church in Blair for Richard A. Johnson, 86, of Herman, who died at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha Dec. 1, 1996. A family graveside service will be held at 10:30 Wednesday at the Blair Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Richard A. Johnson was born near Blair May 2, 1910 to Chris and Christina Mortensen Johnson. He was a graduate of Blair High School.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in New Guinea.
He managed the Blue Goose Store in Blair from 1943 to 1964.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He was a past member of the Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Blair American Legion Post and Blair Masonic Lodge.
He married Vera Nelsen May 21, 1934. She preceded him in death in 1970.
He married Leona Potadle April 9, 1984.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vera and a brother, Raymond.
He is survived by his wife, Leona of Herman, a stepson, Jon Potadle of Herman; stepdaughter, Donelle Ege of Rockford, Ill., five step-grandchildren; eight great-step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Home Health Care or Visiting Nurses in Blair.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
