James Otis Abshire, 88, died at his home near Lithia Saturday night. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Blanche Abshire; 11 daughters; Mrs J H Gray, Mrs Ruth Lovern, Christine Abshire, Mrs R A Pedigo, Mrs H C Slusser, Roanoke; Mrs Roscoe Kinzie, Mrs H E Young, Troutville; Mrs Kyle Obenshain, Nace; Mrs J D Friend, Boston; Mrs F E Turner, Waukegan, Ill., Maxine Abshire, Bridgewater; four sons, C W, H R, and T W Abshire, Roanoke; Ernest Abshire, Fincastle. Funeral was held Tuesday at 11 at the Troutville Church of the Brethren. Burial was in Tombstone cemetery, Hollins.
