They were the parents of 8 children, 7 living in 1900: Josephine (1875, Wichmer), Henry B (1876), George J (1879), Frances Mary (1881, John Johnson), Rose Agnes (1887, Ennenbach), Joseph (1884), and Edward (1889).

She came to this country in 1871, locating at Dyersville, Iowa. On October 7, 1873, she was united in marriage to Bernard H. Brunning. To this union were born, six children. In 1878 they moved to Arcadia where Mr. Bruning worked as a wagon-maker until his health failed.
She was only ill a few days and the end came suddenly. She was a very devout Catholic and a member of the Christian Mothers, who had charge of the funeral which was held from St. John's Catholic church Wednesday, February 28, services by Rev. Father Buemmle and interment made at the St. John's cemetery.
She leaves to mourn besides her husband the following children, all of whom were but Joe who could not reach here in time: Mrs. J.J. Wichmer, of St. Joe, Missouri; Mrs. J. Johnson, of St. Joe, Missouri; Mrs. William Enenbach, of Moneta, Iowa; Henry and George of this city; Joe of Payette, Idaho; Mrs. Michael Boos, of Anamosa, Iowa, step-daughter and her son. She leaves fourteen grandchildren.
