Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until January 19, 1946.

David served as a First Lieutenant on B-25D #41-30252, 405th Bomber Squadron, 38th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on January 29, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a metallurgist and also as Single, without dependents.

David was declared "Missing In Action" over the Admiralty Islands during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
