Lt. Finder was a veteran of "Operation Tidal Wave " one of the most daring raids of the war. Coming in at tree top level with Lt. Austin and crew of SOUTHERN COMFORT with the flying Eight Balls, they destroy Romanian oil refineries. The 44th earns Presidential Unit Citation, all of the crews receive the Distinguished Flying Cross for valor.
