"EDWARD S. SACKETT
Services for Edward Sherman Sackett, 69, of Placerville will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Highway Bible Church, with Pastor Mark Cowles officiating. Private interment will be in El Dorado Cemetery.
Mr. Sackett died Feb. 11 at a local hospital.
A native of California, he had lived all his life in El Dorado County. Prior to his retirement, he had been a contractor.
Mr. Sackett was the father of Gloria Singh of Modesto, Howard Sackett of Alaska and Gilbert Sackett of Placerville; and the brother of Juanita Meyer of Placerville. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Family members request that remembrances be sent to the American Caner Society or Highway Bible Church."
On his headstone his name is listed as Edward Sherman Noe Sackett. He was born a Noe, but his mother, Nora, married Charles Sackett when Edward was still a baby.
