Mrs. Allie Fox Dies Saturday
LAPEL - Mrs. Allie Fox, 84, of Indianapolis, a former resident of this community, died at 5 a.m. Saturday.
Born in Hancock County, she was the daughter of Elisha and Lydia Abney and had spent much of her life in the Fishersburg and Lapel vicinity. She moved to Indianapolis in 1935.
Her first husband died many years ago and she later married Everett Fox, who is also dead. She belonged to the Lapel Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and was a member of the Pocahontas Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Lee Harless, Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Critser, Anderson; Mrs. Bertha Hartman, Kokomo; Mrs. Nancy Montgomery, Lapel; four brothers, Charles Abney, McCordsville; Alfred Abney, Muncie; John Abney, Ft. Myers, Fla.; and George Abney, DeKalb, Ill.
Funeral rites will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Fisher Brothers Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. The Rev. Oscar Davis will be in charge of the service.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
