John A. Abney, 83, Fort Myers, Fla., former Anderson and Fishersburg resident, died Sunday night in a Fort Myers Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie; one daughter, Deloris Wilson of Anderson; three sons, Willis Senior Abney, Fort Myers, Fla.; Cecil Abney of Bradentown, Fla.; Ray Abney of Byron, Ill.; three sisters, Bertha Hartman, Brown County; Ida Critser of Anderson; Nancy Montgomery, DeKalb, Ill.; three brothers, Alfred Abney, Muncie; Charles Abney, Mohawk; and George Abney, DeKalb, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at the Harvy Funeral Home at Fort Myers, Fla. Burial will be in Fort Myers.
