He was born January 23, 1941, in Peoria, IL to Willard D. and Leona Kaatz Nelson.
Surviving are his mother of Memphis; and one aunt, Viola Jenkins of Varna.
His father preceded him in death.
He was a sales representative for Caterpillar Inc. and retired from International Paper four years ago.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Varna, IL. The Rev. Peter Glock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Local arrangements are by Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon, IL.
