Death of Mrs. W. Rayls
---------
Former Kokomo Woman Dies
At Kansas City.
----------
Brought To Old Home For Last Rest
Funeral Wednesday Afternoon.
----------
Mrs. Rachel Margaret Rayls, the widow of William Rayls, many years a resident of Kokomo, passed away Monday morning at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Gillin, at Kansas City. This afternoon the remains were brought to this city, attended by her children, and were taken to the home of James Rayls, 317 South Philips street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of James Rayls, the Rev. David H. Shields, pastor of the Main Street Christian church in charge. Interment will be made in Crown Point cemetery.

Mrs. Rayls who was seventy-six years old retained much of the vivacity and attractiveness of her youth into her later years and the knowledge of her passing came as a shock to her old friends in this city. One week ago Sunday she was taken ill with pleurisy which later developed into pneumonia. With characteristic cheer and courage, she fought the disease bet met defeat.

Mrs. Rayls is survived by three daughters, Mrs. T.B. Gillin and Mrs. A.P. Moore of Kansas City and Mrs. Nettie Blount of Indianapolis. Three step-sons found her a kind and loving mother and mourn her as their own, they are James Rayls of this city, Willard and Charles Rayls of Kingman, Kansas. All are here for the funeral as are also T.B. Gillin, Miss Corinne Blount of Indianapolis, Mrs. Willard Rayls and Mrs. Charles Rayls of Kingman, Kansas, and Dr. Robert Blount of Valparaiso.

Margaret was the second wife of William Rayl. They married around 1870 in Indiana, they had no children.
