Page 824 of The Dodson (Dotson) Family of North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia shows that Nancy C. Dodson, born February 7, 1836; married Adrian Northcutt. Nancy is listed as the daughter of Lemuel Dodson and Jane Catherine Reed.

The 1850 Federal Census for Beat 11, Alabama (Marion County) shows Nancy C. Dodson, age 14, born in Alabama; living with her father, Lemuel Dodson, age 45, born in South Carolina; and her mother, Jane, age 40, born in Tennessee. Also living in the household were Nancy's siblings: Martha A. Dobson, age 20; Sarah A. Dodson, age 17; George W. R. Dodson, age 11; Margaret M. Dobson, age 8; Mary Jane Dodson, age 4; and Louisa F. Dodson, age 0; all born in Alabama.
