Although the exact date and place of the birth of Fulmoth/Falmouth Kearney are uncertain, he was born about 1830, and his family lived in Moneygall, County Offaly, Ireland, where his father was a shoemaker. He emigrated to the United States in 1850 at the age of 19.

Fulmoth/Falmouth Kearney moved to Labette County, Kansas, from Tipton County, Indiana, shortly before his death. Fairview Cemetery, so named because it is in the Fairview Township of Labette County, Kansas, is located on the south side of 10000th Road between Queens Road to the east and Pratt Road to the west, northwest of the town of Bartlett.
