JENNINGS--Graveside services for Lonnie Coker, 81, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Coker died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, Houston VA Hospital.
A native of Oakdale, he was a resident of Houston. He was employed by F. I. Getty's Machine Shop prior to World War II. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He served aboard the U.S.S. Portland Cruiser in the Pacific. After the war he was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad in Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Pulver Coker of Houston; two sons, Richard Coker of Arlington, Texas and Francis Coker of Houston; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.
