BRANCHE E. MCGLOTHLIN
CEDAR BLUFF, Va. -- Branche E.
McGlothlin, 74, of Cedar Bluff,
passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2002
in a Tazewell, Va. hospital
following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Russell County,
Va., and was the son of the late
Glenn and Rassie Combs McGlothlin,
both former Tazewell County
residents.
He had made his home in the
Cedar Bluff area most of his life
and was a loving husband, father,
and grandfather to all of his
family. He was the former owner/
operator of McGlothlin Building
Supply and was U. S. Army Korean
War veteran. He attended the
Baptist Valley Assembly of God
and was a member of the Casey-
Shortt VFW Post No. 9640.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by one
brother, Dallas McGlothlin.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
Frances Whitaker McGlothlin;
three daughters, Anna Stewart
of Richlands, Va., Melissa
Humphries of Cedar Bluff, and
Susan Wallace and husband,
Gary, of Lebanon, Va.; five
sisters, Euva Lyons and husband,
Bobby of Baptist Valley, Va.,
Shirley Patrick and husband,
A. G. of Boones Mill, Va.,
Lucille Dawson and husband,
James of Tazewell, Glenna
Couch and husband, John of
Mountain City, Tenn., and
Sandra Puckett of Richlands;
one brother, Bobby McGlothlin
and wife, Jeanne of Vinton, Va.;
one sister-in-law, Rose McGloth-
lin of Tazewell; and six
grandchildren, Brent Humphries,
Rebekah Stewart, Emily Stewart,
Julia Casey, Amelia Casey, and
Quenton Wallace.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at
the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel
in Richlands with the Revs.
A. Charles Allen, Joe Copolo,
Sam Altizer, and Rick Pruitt
officiating. Interment will
follow at Hankins Cemetery,
Richlands.
Nephews and cousins will
serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearer will
be Joe Williamson, George West,
Bobby Lyons, Russell Patrick,
Billy Luttrell, and Eddie
Burress.
Members of Casey-Shortt
VFW Post No. 9640 and Tazewell
County Chapter No. 31 DAV will
conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call at the funeral
home after 6 p.m. today.
